FEA Launches Creative Lighting Design Department
Las Vegas, NV - Renowned for their expertise and success in electrical, mechanical, heating, ventilation and air conditioning engineering for some of the largest and noteworthy hospitality properties in Las Vegas, Nevada, Finnegan Erickson & Associates (FEA) Consulting Engineers has announced the launch of their new full-service creative lighting design department, FEA Illumination Design Studio, The Studio's mission is to provide comprehensive architectural lighting design services that create visually appealing and cost-effective lighting for building interiors, exteriors and landscaping, as well as choreographed theatrical treatments for live events and static displays.
Recognized nationwide as an industry leader in engineering design and project management, FEA has drawn together the elements of lighting excellence, forming an outstanding team. According to FEA Principal Robert Finnegan, "We've enhanced our lighting design capabilities by adding key personnel capable of providing a level of service not previously available in our field. Our designs reflect a high degree of aesthetics, with particular attention paid to the effects of light and shadow, color and hue, shape and perception. After receiving a Master of Science Electrical Engineering degree from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and being Lighting Certified by the National Council on Qualifications for the Lighting Professions, Principal Steven Pay adds leadership and creativity to the FEA Illumination Design Studio team. A highly skilled, technical and artistic individual, Steve has coordinated projects ranging from hotel/casino remodels to lighting design for lavish high-rise hospitality venues. Having spent most of his career in the Las Vegas area, Steve brings the Las Vegas "bling" to lighting design, and delivers the confidence and creative abilities that come with working on so many properties on the Vegas Strip. He addresses the visual appeal and mood of a building, along with the ergonomic aspects, including energy efficiency and safety. Steve Pay is Past President of the Las Vegas chapter of IESNA, currently serves on the IESNA Energy Management and Hospitality Lighting Committees, and, as a LEED® Professional, accredited by the U.S. Green Building Council, has long been focused on green design and energy codes, sharing FEA's sensitivity to "Dark Sky" issues.
As Senior Electrical Engineer, Stephen Hall contributes more than 28 years of lighting and electrical experience to the FEA Illumination Design Studio team. An agile project manager with keen insight and a genuine ability to visualize and execute dramatic yet functional lighting, Stephen's lighting designs are innovative and cost-effective while achieving the aesthetic demands of the architect, building designers and owners. Stephen Hall is registered in seven states as a Professional Engineer (PE), and is an instructor for the IESNA, as well as the Art Institute of Las Vegas. He is also Past President of IESNA, and is certified by the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying.
Senior Lighting Designer and Illuminating Consultant Steven Stannard spent over 30 years designing commercial, residential and theatrical lighting for a noteworthy array of high‑profile projects. He received his Bachelor of Science Illuminations Engineering degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder, launching his career with projects for such noteworthy companies as IBM, Boeing, General Electric and Lightoiler. Through the years he has been honored as a fellow of the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IESNA), and is a past member of the U.S. Institute for Theatrical Technology.
