Request for Proposals (RFP) from Duke Energy Ohio.

Duke Energy is seeking proposals for a supply portfolio of energy and capacity generated from, or for the sale of, a renewable energy resource, including landfill gas. Duke Energy is seeking a minimum of 61,000 MWh by the end of 2009, and 355,000 MWh by the end of 2012. Duke is releasing this RFP in response to anticipated requirements of the 2008 Ohio Energy Bill.

The minimum project size for types other than solar is 1 MW. Renewable energy resources located in Ohio are preferred. Projects with a start-up date of 1/1/98 or later will be considered, as long as they are online by the end of 2012. Renewable energy credit (REC) purchases will be considered from renewable energy resources that deliver energy into Ohio.

Bid proposals may be in the form of purchase power agreement, renewable power sale and buyout option, or sale/purchase of renewable energy resource.

Each potential bidder is requested to advise Duke Energy of its intent to submit a proposal by submitting a notice of intent to bid (NOIB). NOIBs are requested by July 8, 2008 and can be submitted to Kathy Dunn via fax at 980-373-5393 or e-mail at khdunn@duke-energy.com.

Address all questions and communications about this RFP to Kathy Dunn at khdunn@duke-energy.com. Written questions will be accepted until 7 calendar days before the proposal submittal deadline, i.e., August 1, 2008.

Proposals are due by 4:00 PM (EDT) on August 8, 2008.
