Stormceptor®Imbrium Systems: New Technologies on the Horizon

Toronto, March 31, 2006: Stormceptor®, the North American leader in engineered stormwater treatment solutions has become Imbrium Systems. Imbrium will continue to market and distribute the Stormceptor System through its global network of affiliates, as well as developing new stormwater management technologies to introduce to its product line.

“Right now, we’re heavily focused on research and development,” said Imbrium Systems President Scott Monteith. “We’re looking beyond end-of-pipe treatment and anticipating future needs around issues such as associated pollutants and treatment at the source. Imbrium’s mandate is to continue creating new, environmentally sustainable technologies for dealing with stormwater.”

Stormceptor Systems remove oil, sediment and other pollutants, as well as protecting stored contaminants from being scoured out during intense rainfalls. With more than 16,000 installations, Stormceptor is regarded among specifying engineers and developers as setting the industry standard for compliance with water quality regulations.

Imbrium (Latin for “of rains,”) is in the process of innovating products that assist private and public sector clients in meeting or exceeding environmental standards. Its researchers and engineers are focused on stormwater-related technologies that address long-term concerns and reflect increased public awareness about sustainable development and the need to protect water resources.

“Our philosophy is: If it’s not environmentally sustainable, it’s not good engineering,” said Monteith, “Like one of our clients said to me, Imbrium’s engineering is at the cutting edge of common sense.”

Imbrium Systems is a member of the Monteco group of companies. In addition to Imbrium Systems, Monteco is also the parent company of Green Turtle™, a leader in wastewater treatment solutions and pollution control applications, and of Filamat, an automated composite manufacturing company. Monteco is also a founder of Biox, a patented process which refines animal and vegetable oils into high-quality, renewable fuel-grade biodiesel.
